Parenting through stress and trauma is a heavy burden, especially when navigating the aftermath of a child’s suicide attempt, self-harm, or other dangerous behaviors. The NEABPD (National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder) is here to help. Starting in February 2025, their free, evidence-based 8-week program provides parents with the tools and support they need to navigate these challenges.
This program is designed specifically for parents dealing with stress, fear, or trauma-related issues tied to their child or adult child’s mental health struggles. It combines educational resources, skill-building exercises, and the invaluable support of peers facing similar challenges.
Here’s what participants can expect:
- Educational Content: Learn about stress, trauma, emotion dysregulation, and family dynamics in a supportive environment.
- Individual Skills: Gain practical tools to reduce fear, manage emotions, and strengthen relationships with your child and others.
- Group Support: Share experiences and practice new skills with a supportive community of parents who understand your journey.
The course meets once a week over eight weeks, offering consistent guidance and peer collaboration. Best of all, it’s entirely free.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this transformative program, visit the Family Connections Programs page on the NEABPD website to learn more and enroll. A downloadable flyer with a QR code is also available for easy sharing.
Let’s work together to connect families with the support they need and help build a world where emotional wisdom prevails.
