As a prelude to the “School’s out for the Summer” celebration, residents of Pahranagat Valley congregated to enjoy a free movie night May 22 at the Alamo Church Ball Park. About 50 people brought their blankets and lawn chairs to watch the 1950s classic, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.”
The event was organized by the Joshua Tree Ward youth. Ethan Mower with Nevada State Parks provided the outdoor screen and sound system, and the Lincoln Community Coalition helped get the word out.
Nice weather complemented the outdoor festivities. Community members contributed to the movie night, with the Meltons providing slushies and the Lytles bringing popcorn for families to enjoy.
