Members of the Lincoln County Coalition and NyECC provided resources to the community during the Lincoln County Fair and Rodeo. The Exhibit Hall flooded each afternoon Aug. 9 through 12 with visitors seeking to witness the various submissions of art, crafts, and homemade or homegrown goods. Hayley Gloeckner, Amber Pike, and Crystal Dineley dedicated the majority of their weekend to facilitate the substance misuse prevention games and hand out awareness literature at the tables.
The Coalition station shared space with Nevada Senior Medicare Patrol and the popular Lincoln County Conservation District gun raffle. Paul Thornton was also on site with a variety of Nevada 211 swag. Some members of the public participated in the Wheel of Misfortune game highlighting choices that can lead to poor outcomes and habits. Staff also handed out Doterra drug deactivation bags and COVID-19 tests at the station.
Event attendees were encouraged to sign up for the lifesaving Naloxone training and the Living a Healthy Life with a Chronic Condition course created by Stanford University. The free training continues to be offered to both individuals and organizations at no cost. To request participation in a training session or schedule a group session contact Hayley Gloeckner by phone at (775)- 962-1087.
